Blueprint for Interactive Classrooms

About this site

The Blueprint for Interactive Classrooms project is about designing and building interactive classrooms for teaching distant learners using various audio-visual technologies which allow teachers and learners to interact over a variety of telecommunications networks in a cost-effective and pedagogically sound manner.

On this site you will find information about the project, its partners, the classrooms, the handbook and the demonstrators as well as archives with background information and documents about developments within the project. The helpdesk provides a Question and Answer service that aims to support users with advise on how to build and use telepresence classrooms. Parts of BIC Information are also available in other languages.

The experience and knowledge of teleteaching created and collated within the BIC project continues to expand and to be in use by the partners. Many other institutions and educational organisations have benefitted from this experience through visiting the partner institutions and/or through reading the handbook "Classes for Distance Teaching and Learning: A Blueprint" written by the partners which can be ordered from this web site.

A link to the PROACTe web site is available on this site.
